Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Rustida aims to promote excellence in nursing and health care through the dissemination of evidence-based, peer-reviewed clinical information and original research, the discussion of relevant and controversial professional issues, adherence to the standards of scientific integrity and excellence, and the promotion of nursing perspectives to the health-care community and the public. All Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Rustida articles are required to have a sound scientific, evidential, theoretical, or philosophical base and to be critical, questioning, and scholarly in approach.

Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Rustida published in a printed version in July 2014 with a cover design in the distinctive blue color of Akademi Kesehatan Rustida. The publication frequency of the Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Rustida since its inception is twice a year (January and July). The cover design underwent changes in the context of accreditation and improvement of editorial quality. Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Rustida began using electronic journal management with the Open Journal System (OJS) in 2018. Journal management is supervised by the Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) Akademi Kesehatan Rustida. Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Rustida collaborates with several Language Editing Services to ensure language quality is up to the standards of scientific publications in the processing of published articles in English and in English.
